Red Russian
Ingredients: 2 oz vodka (okay, honestly I couldn’t reach the vodka bottle, so I just used gin), 1 oz cherry brandy. Pour both over ice.

Despite my not making this with the proper ingredients, it wasn’t too bad. Not the greatest cocktail ever, but. I didn’t spit it out.

Bell sour
Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz bell pepper-flavored vodka, 1 oz simple syrup, 3/4 oz lemon juice, 1/2 an egg white. Shake with ice, then strain into a chilled glass.

Hey, I still have some this bell pepper vodka lying around! I used it in a sour with egg white to cut the flavor, and it was honestly pretty good. This is probably the best cocktail I’ve made with this flavor vodka.

Bell gimlet
Ingredients: Combine equal parts bell pepper-flavored vodka and Rose’s lime syrup in a glass with ice and stir.
This is another cocktail I tried with the bell pepper vodka I made. Erm, it was kind of disgusting. I added some ginger ale and then I just gave up and tossed it out.

Bell année
Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz gin, 3/4 oz bell pepper-infused vodka, 1/4 oz simple syrup, 1/2 oz lime juice. Shake with ice and strain into a glass.
This is a drink I invented for the bell pepper vodka I made. The bell pepper taste is VERY strong, so I wanted to mix it with a mild liquor (you could also pair it with regular vodka). Like the bell ringer, it tastes very unusual, but definitely not bad.

Bell ringer
Ingredients: 2 oz bell pepper-infused vodka, honey and lemon. Add honey and lemon to a highball glass and muddle with a splash of club soda. Add ice, top with flavored vodka, and stir.

At first the taste of this was so strange, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. But the combo of savory, sour, and sweet was really interesting, and I definitely recommend you try it. If I have this drink again I’ll probably add more honey and lemon juice, and heat the honey a bit so that it’s easier to mix with the other ingredients.

Bell pepper-infused vodka
Ingredients: 1 part bell peppers, quartered and seeded; 1 part vodka. Seal in an airtight jar and shake; let steep for 3 days.

I’m not a big fan of bell peppers, but there were some bell pepppers sitting around and they were going to go bad unless I used them for SOMETHING. So of course I decided to use them to make liquor.
When the vodka is finished steeping, it’s a light yellow color and you can really smell and taste the bell peppers. Pretty interesting flavor, especially in a cocktail.

Vodkatini

Ingredients: 2 oz vodka, 2 oz dry vermouth

I prefer sweet martinis, I think. That’s how I roll. But I don’t prefer vodka to gin. Vodka’s version of drunk on me is not pleasant.

Disaronno Cosmo

Ingredients: 2 oz cranberry Cosmo mix, 1 oz lime juice, 1 oz Disaronno shaken with ice and strained into a cocktail glass.

Hey I just realized this is basically a sidecar but with cranberry vodka! That’s all.

Celery gimlet

Ingredients: 2 oz vodka, 1/2 oz lime juice, 1/4 oz agave syrup, 2 dashes celery bitters, shaken with ice and strained into glass with ice.

Vodka is really not as good as gin. Also, as much as i like the celery bitters, sometimes they don’t add very much to a drink. This being a case in point.

Remember that premade cranberry cosmo mix I tried a few weeks ago? I found a way to make it taste better! The lime juice added a nice kick, and the sweetness of the Disaronno balanced out the cough syrup flavor of the mix. It was pretty tasty, actually! Will definitely revisit.
