Red lion
Ingredients: 1 oz gin, 1 oz triple-sec, 1/2 oz orange juice, 1/2 oz lemon juice. Shake with ice and strain into a chilled glass.
Source: Forgot, again. I think it was on a website dedicated to gin with a really clever name I can’t recall.
The red lion! Why isn’t it red? That’s the question. I don’t know why it isn’t red, but it was… okay. Ish. This cocktail has the distinction of being the only cocktail to ever win a competition and make it into a classic cocktail book. The book was The Savoy Cocktail Book by Henry Craddock, and the competition was the 1933 London’s cocktail competition. So in other words this is like a really good song by an American Idol winner, I guess.
