Dirty caper martini
Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz gin, 1/2 oz dry vermouth, a splash of brine from jarred capers to taste. Stir with ice and strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with capers.
I love dirty martinis, but I don’t like olives, so I never have them on hand. While making a salad the other day, however, I suddenly thought to myself that maybe I could use capers in place of olives. So I did! And it was good! The brine may not be as salty as olive brine, but you can just add more.
