Bridge Night Tom Collins

This was the women’s drink during card game night in Mad Men, and purportedly comes from The Great Tom Collins Hoax of 1874. Basically people would tell other people a guy named Tom Collins was talking smack about them, and if they asked the bartender if they’d seen this Tom Collins, they’d get a drink. This story sounds a little spurious to me, but whatever. I can see why the ladies of Mad Men would chose this drink; it’s very refreshing and has a low alcohol content. Pretty good.
